About Jenny Benoit
I’m a contemporary wildlife and landscape artist whose work explores the quiet, powerful ways we are all connected—to the earth, to each other, and to something deeper we can feel but can’t always name.
Inspired by the animals and landscapes of the great Northwest, my paintings often feature owls, wolves, forests, and mountain horizons woven together in dreamlike, symbolic scenes. I’m drawn to those in-between moments: dusk light on water, wings becoming trees, mountains emerging from petals. They’re reminders that everything in nature is intertwined.
My Artistic Approach
I work primarily in acrylic, often building up the surface with sculpting mediums and textured materials like clay, gel, pumice, and crushed crystal, when it just feels right. These layers catch the light and cast subtle shadows, giving each piece a dimensional, almost sculptural presence.
From a distance, my paintings read as atmospheric, contemporary works. Up close, you’ll see intricate details, textures, and hidden connections that reveal themselves slowly—inviting you to linger, look again, and feel your own story within the piece.
Roots & Inspiration
I hold a B.S. in Visual Communication/Graphic Design, a B.A. in Studio Art, and a minor in Art History, all from UC Davis. That foundation in design, composition, and art history continues to inform my work—balancing intuitive, spiritual imagery with strong structure and intentional detail.
I later moved to the Northwest with my husband and four boys in search of a better quality of life. The forests, mountains, and slower rhythm we found here have become the heartbeat of my newest paintings, infusing them with a deep sense of place and gratitude.
What My Work Is About
At the heart of my practice is a belief in unity:
between animal and landscape
between seen and unseen
between the viewer and the natural world
Each painting is an invitation to pause and remember that we are not separate from nature—we are part of it. I aim to create artwork that feels both timeless and current: grounded in the wild beauty of this world, yet open to spiritual and emotional interpretation.
For Collectors & Collaborators
My work lives in private collections and has been shown in gallery settings, where viewers are often drawn first to the dramatic imagery—and then to the subtle textures and symbolism that keep them coming back.
I love partnering with collectors, designers, and galleries who are looking for pieces that bring depth, presence, and a sense of connection to a space.
If you feel a resonance with my work, I invite you to explore the collection, join my mailing list, or reach out about a specific piece or commission.
Thank you for supporting original art and for honoring the wild, living world that inspires it.
